This is thé benchmark engine from the 70-ties.

One of the best designed engines of its time. Besides, of course, the BMW 02 serie engines, which started with the 1502 engine. The base engine block was directly used in the F1 turbo era by BMW Motorsport.

These remain two of the best engines in the world, ahead of their time.
